Man City’s name is already on the trophy.
Last night they did what champions do and grabbed a last-gasp winner against Southampton to restore their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Raheem Sterling was the man of the moment once again, curling in a beautiful finish from just outside the box with literally seconds left.
The dramatic winner sparked delirious scenes at the Etihad, not least from Benjamin Mendy.
The French left-back may be another six months away from returning after rupturing his ACL, but that didn’t stop him joining the celebrations.
Mendy briefly forgot about his serious injury and ran off down the touchline to join Sterling and co.
We say ran, it was more of a hobble…
Further proof that Mendy should be everyone’s favourite player, regardless of who you support.
Pep Guardiola spoke about the Frenchman’s miraculous mini-recovery after the game…
Mendy posted a photo of the City changing room after the final whistle and fans were immeadiealty drawn to one thing…
David Silva is packing heat.
Despite these valiant efforts from Mendy and Silva, the night belonged to Sterling.
Incredibly, his winner against Southampton was his second 96th minute winner of the season, having done something similar to Bournemouth earlier in the campaign.
The England international also scored winners against Huddersfield and Feyenoord with under six minutes remaining of normal time.
And in City’s only non-victory of the Premier League season, Sterling scored an 82nd minute equaliser against Everton.
In a team full of match-winners, he’s become the man City turn to when they need a goal most.
