Raheem Sterling's goal for Man City against Feyenoord was a clear sign that Pep Guradiola's training methods are paying off

We love it when a plan comes together.

Much has been said about Pep Guardiola’s meticulous attention to the finest details during training sessions.

During Man City’s win against Feyenoord last night you could see that training being put into practice, especially when it came to Raheem Sterling’s winner.

A video emerged of Guardiola paying special attention to Sterling earlier in the season.

Guardiola was urging Sterling to open his body when he receives a pass, allowing him to be more aware of his surroundings.

Wouldn’t you just know it, practice made perfect last night.

Sterling took Ilkay Gundogan’s pass with an open body before playing a simple pass back to the German.

As soon as the ball left his foot Sterling was on the move again, collecting Gundogan’s one-two.

He then clipped a delicate finish over former Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones to give City the win and confirm qualification to the next round.

So remember kids, pay attention to your teachers in school (as long as they’re given you tactical advice that can be put to use on the football pitch).
