This isn’t exactly the news Tottenham fans will want to hear.
If it weren’t for Harry Kane’s truly meteoric rise in recent seasons, we’d probably be talking about Dele Alli even more.

The Spurs star burst onto the scene two years ago, immediately becoming a first-team regular and emerging as one of the finest goalscoring midfielders in Europe.
And two goals against Real Madrid earlier this month was arguably the pinnacle of his still very fledgling career.
But a change of representation might spell a career change for Alli.
Sky Sports understands that the 21-year-old is close to switching agency from Rob Segal and Impact Sports to Gestifute when his contract runs out next year.
And who is Gestifute’s leading name? Jorge Mendes, of course.
Mendes, arguably the biggest super agent on the planet, represents a host of household names, including Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and a number of Manchester City players.
So what might that mean for Alli?
Well Mendes has concrete and established links at both Manchester United and Real Madrid – the two most likely destinations for Alli should he leave Spurs.
Mendes’ financial muscle means he tends to get what he wants, as emphasised by the rather bizarre moves made by clients Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez to Monaco in 2013.
Alli has certainly fluttered his eye lashes at other clubs in the past and is reportedly learning Spanish, so a partnership with Mendes could accelerate his departure.
