It won’t be the same without you Gigi.

The likes of Italy, Holland, Chile and the USA, to name a few,  will all be watching from their sofas as the world’s best battle it out.

But what comes next?

The big news for Harry Kane and co. is that England will be in pot two, avoiding a host of major nations.

Yes lads, no Suarez.

Yes lads, no Suarez.

The Three Lions won’t be drawn with Spain, Colombia, Uruguay (2014, Suarez. Ahem.), Croatia, Switzerland, Mexico and Peru.

However, danger looms in pot one and pot three.

Obviously, England will want to miss the hot favourites in pot one such as Germany, Brazil, Argentina, France, Belgium, Portugal, Poland and hosts Russia.

Where do we collect the trophy?

In pot three Roy Hodgson-slayers and thunderclap tyros Iceland could cause England some embarrassment a la Euro 2016.

Here’s a look at the seedings in full.

Pot 1: Russia (as hosts), Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland, France

Pot 2: Spain, Peru , Switzerland, England, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Croatia

Pot 3: Denmark, Iceland, Costa Rica, Sweden, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Iran

Pot 4: Serbia, Nigeria, Australia, Japan, Morocco, Panama, South Korea, Saudi Arabia.

What is the worst-case scenario for England?

Bearing in mind no more than two European sides can be drawn into the same group, Brazil would be the team Southgate will want to avoid from pot one.

From the third seeds, England will be hoping not to draw Iceland.

Not just because of the infamous Euro 2016 defeat, but because the Icelanders were extremely impressive in qualifying.

From the bottom seeds, African heavyweights Nigeria would represent the toughest opponent available – they recently came from 2-0 down to beat Argentina 4-2, although that was without Lionel Messi.

What is the best-case scenario for England?

Russia are only top seeds because they are hosts, so surely they would be the team to hope for.

Although, they will have a passionate and *feisty* crowd behind them.

Iran have not been particularly impressive and England would fancy their chances.

Relative minnows Panama would make up the smoothest group for England.

The group draw gods have been pretty kind to England in the past few tournaments but it hasn’t always helped.

Here’s hoping, Gareth.
