Alexis Sanchez is counting down the days until he is freed from his Arsenal cage.
The Chilean superstar is out of contract at the Emirates in the summer and is unlikely to sign a new deal.
So then, who will replace him?
Sun Sport are reporting that Arsene Wenger is preparing for Sanchez’s departure and is ready to launch a £35million bid for Wilfried Zaha.
Crystal Palace’s talisman has improved his club’s fortunes since returning from injury though the Eagles remain at the bottom of the table with just four points to their name.
Palace are determined to keep Zaha but a considerable bid from a top six team may be hard to rebuff.
The 25-year-old Ivory Coast winger agreed a fresh five-year deal in the summer but that doesn’t mean much in modern football.
Spurs were tracking Zaha’s progress since returning to Palace from Man United permanently almost three years ago.
Wenger believes he has the ability to replace Sanchez though some fans may not agree.
Zaha has been tremendous for Palace but few would put him in the same bracket as the former Barcelona forward.
Porto forward Yacine Brahimi has also been scouted by Wenger but Zaha is seen as a player with proven track record in the Premier League.
