Zlatan Ibrahimovic close to Man United return after being spotted back in training

United's Marouane Fellaini posted footage on social media of the striker back in training

For those of you who are missing Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s enigmatic presence on the pitch this season – we have good news.

Judging by Marouane Fellaini’s latest social media activity, the big Swede is seemingly on his way back to full fitness, after being spotted training in a video posted on Instagram

It’s hard to tell who the figure training on the pitch is in the shot, but the caption “Don’t compare a lion with a human” is consistent with the sort of thing Zlatan likes to say about himself.

The Manchester United striker has been out of action since April, after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in their Europa League quarter final clash against Anderlecht.

Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals and assisted 10 in 46 games for the Old Trafford club last season, and instantly became a fan favourite.

And having quashed rumours of retiring due to his injury at the end of last season, Zlatan recently signed a new contract with the club in the most Zlatan way possible.

Mourinho believes Zlatan will be back before the end of the year

This piece of good news comes after Jose Mourinho claimed recently that Ibra will make his first team comeback before the end of the calendar year.

Speaking after United’s defeat against Huddersfield last month, Mourinho said: “Zlatan is here – he’s working here and under our control.

“He’s working as you would expect – so, so, so hard.

“But he’s not going to be back in the next week or the next couple of weeks.

“Let him take his time and be back when everybody feels is the right moment.

“Do I believe he’ll be back in 2017? Yes, I do. But it’s just a feeling.”
