The England squad for friendlies against Germany and Brazil has been announced

Tammy Abraham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Joe Gomez have all been handed call-ups to the latest squad

The latest England squad for the Three Lions’ friendly games against Brazil and Germany have been released.

And it’s fair to say it is absolutely packed full of surprises.

Swansea’s on-loan striker Tammy Abraham has been included in the squad for the first time, after rejecting the chance to play for Nigeria in order to have a shot at a Three Lions call-up.

Abraham has impressed since moving on loan from parent club Chelsea in the summer, scoring five goals in 13 in all competitions for Paul Clement’s side.

There are also call-ups for Liverpool’s Joe Gomez, and Crystal Palace’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek are also included.

Gomez has played eight times at right-back in the Premier League this season, while Loftus-Cheek has made six appearances for the South London club.

Meanwhile, there is also a recall for Ashley Young – the Manchester United man’s last appearance in an England shirt came against Ukraine in November 2013.

Gareth Southgate’s side breezed through their qualifying group for the World Cup in Russia next year, but friendly fixtures against the world’s two best sides will provide a sterner test than the likes of Lithuania and Malta.

Die Mannschaft currently sit at the top of the FIFA World Rankings, while the Selecao are one place behind.

England face on Friday 10 November, followed by their match against Brazil on Tuesday 14. Both matches will take place at Wembley.

The full squad to face Germany and Brazil is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, Jack Butland, Jordan Pickford

Defenders: Ryan Bertrand, Danny Rose, Gary Cahill, Phil Jones, Harry Maguire, John Stones, Joe Gomez, Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, Ashley Young

Midfielders: Eric Dier, Fabian Delph, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Harry Winks, Jesse Lingard, Dele Alli

Strikers: Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Tammy Abraham, Jamie Vardy
