You know what; Tottenham look every bit Real Madrid’s equals this evening.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were probably the better of the two sides in the first-half, with the Madrid lads strolling off at half-time looking a little bit miffed by their own performance.
Spurs took the lead in the mammoth encounter thanks to Dele Alli’s strike on the 27th minute – making his first Champions League start of the season.
And while the goal – a fairly straight-forward tap-in from only a couple of yards out – wasn’t much to write home about, the build-up was simply terrific.
And dare we say it, but the finest bit of football we’ve seen by three English lads at Wembley this season.
It all starts with Madrid defender Nacho needlessly giving away the ball away for a throw-in, which goes back to Harry Winks.
The midfield, who was terrific at the Bernabeu two weeks ago, pinged a sensational pass over Marcelo into the path of Kieran Trippier.
Trippier then volleys a low cross past Casilla (stepping into goal tonight for the injured Keylor Navas) and there’s Alli right on cue to bundle home from close-range.

Fans of the Three Lions certainly have a lot to thank Pochettino for.
