LIVERPOOL are sizing up a swoop for Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas, according to reports.
Simon Mignolet and Loris Krrius have been fighting it out to be the main man in goal at Anfield, but neither have convinced boss Jurgen Klopp.
Spanish outlet Diario Gol are reporting the Merseysiders are looking for a new first-choice keeper and are keen on landing Navas.
Reports from the Spanish capital suggest Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is still not convinced with Navas, despite helping the La Liga giants to the league title and back-to-back Champions League wins last term.
Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of Manchester United’s David Dea Gea, and he would have been in Spain had it not been for the dodgy fax machine in 2015.
Navas had his bags packed ready to move to Old Trafford in a swap deal, so the Costa Rican international potentially is open to moving to the Premier League.
The 30-year-old keeper is set to miss Madrid’s Champions League clash with Tottenham at Wembley due to an abductor problem, which has seen him miss his side’s last three games.
Meanwhile Mignolet has shrugged off more criticism after his poor showing against Spurs at Wembley with some pundits calling for him to be dropped.
The 29-year-old keeper hit back after the home win against Huddersfield.
He said: “You know when you play a good game and you know when you play a bad game.
“Everyone deals with criticism in a different way. Some guys read it, some guys don’t really listen to it, some guys try to stay away from it, some guys get angry about it.
“It is just about staying calm, not getting carried away with what is said because that is part and parcel of playing for Liverpool. You have to deal with it as it’s not going to change.
