There’s nothing like a bit of retail theraphy to pick you up when you’re feeling down.
Now we’re not saying Wayne Rooney was feeling down at the start of the season but leaving Man United and being dropped by England couldn’t have been easy.
But he’s bounced back in the best way possible, by wearing flair retro Nike boots. We salute you Wayne.
Nike Total 90 Laser IIs (blackout)
Without a Premier League goal in five games, Rooney went back to basics.
An all-black pair of Total 90s from 2008 were Rooney’s solution, and boy did they deliver.
If, by deliver, you mean rescue a point against Brighton with a 90th minute penalty.
Nike Total 90 Laser IIs (silver and black)
Same year, different colourway.
Rooney brought a metallic touch to the pitch with another 2008 vintage, which he premiered in training before taking to the pitch against Arsenal.
They worked a treat as Rooney wound back the years with a vintage strike. We can leave out the part about Everton losing 5-2.
Nike Total 90 Laser IVs (green and white)
Not everyday Laser IIs, sometimes Laser IVs.
Rooney laced up some green and white Laser IVs from 2012, specifically the Euro 2012 range from Nike.
Maybe Wazza was just reliving the glory days of the tournament, when we topped Group D
only to crash out on penalties in the next round.
Nike Total 90 Laser IVs (blue and silver)
Last, but by no means least, another pair of Laser IVs from 2012, this time in a colourway to match Everton’s colours.
Rooney didn’t score an Everton were beaten by Leicester but, again, we shouldn’t let that take away from his beautiful choice of boots.
