Remember Cristhian Stuani?
The Uruguayan forward scored just four goals last season as Middlesbrough were relegated from the Premier League after struggling to find the net all season.
Well, that very same Stuani has just impacted the La Liga title race significantly.
The 31-year-old scored a 54th-minute equaliser against Real Madrid four minutes before Portu gave Girona a lead they defended until the final whistle.
The defeat means Real Madrid are now eight points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona who won 2-0 against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
Zinedine Zidane’s men took the lead when Isco followed up on Cristiano Ronaldo’s saved effort.
But Girona struck the woodwork twice before Stuani and Portu sent the home fans into delirium with their quickfire double at the Montilivi stadium.
Stuani came within inches of scoring again midway through the second half but a one-goal advantage was enough to give Girona a third win of their debut top-flight campaign.
It was the club’s first ever victory over Los Blancos.
Girona did their fellow Catalans, Barcelona, a huge favour with the unexpected win.
Ernesto Valverde’s men have won nine of their first ten league games and are yet to experience defeat this season.
Real Madrid have never won the league when they’ve been eight points behind the leaders at any point in the season.
Sounds like Leo Messi owes Stuani an Estrella or two.
