But this weekend, the Brazil star opted to head back to his former club to catch-up with his old team-mates.

Neymar posted a snap of himself alongside the Barcelona stars with the caption: “Those were the days, catching up with the news.

“Messi and Suarez, I’m glad to see you brothers.”

The official Barcelona Twitter account also shared a snap of Neymar surrounded by his former club-mates.

However, Barca fans were less-than pleased with the post, replying with anger.

One likened him to a snake, another a rat, while another did the modern-classic “delete”.

While many jumped on the “traitor” bandwagon, others were more nostalgic, with one tweeting a “come back” GIF.

Meanwhile, Neymar’s ex-agent Wagner Ribeiro has shared a cryptic tweet criticising Catalonia for declaring its independence from Spain.

The region is pushing for independence from Spain and has taken further steps towards breaking away.

Ribeiro believes that he the region’s independence will affect Barcelona badly.

He tweeted: “Catalonia will be like Luxembourg after we leave, and then FC Barcelona will die.”

The post was accompanied by an image of a child wrapped in a Barcelona scarf crying.
