Ashley Young gave Dele Alli the mother of all put downs during Man United’s narrow win over Spurs on Saturday.
The duo almost came to blows in the first half with the Red Devils winger trying to wind up the notorious Spurs hothead.
They were pulled apart by team-mates but the war of words continued.
As the two were walking away, eagle-eyed viewers caught Young saying: “When you’ve won the Premier League, let me know.”
Young was a title-winner with United back in 2012/13, in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season as manager.
Alli has yet to win any kind of trophy, having already finished as a runner up in two of the past three seasons.
Once with Spurs and once with MK Dons.
When the duo went nose-to-nose, Spurs fans much have feared the worst given their No20’s chequered past in such situations.
The occasion was tense at Old Trafford with defeat potentially damaging to both.
With the score at 0-0, Alli missed a gilt-edged chance to open the scoring.
And, just moments later, Spurs were punished with Anthony Martial scoring the game’s only goal with Young enjoying the goal as much as anyone.
Young 1-0 Alli.
