It’s not looking good for Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the moment.
The Armenian playmaker was a nailed-on starter for Manchester United at the start of the season, but a recent dip in form has seen him dropped to the bench by manager Jose Mourinho.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, he faces further problems with the gaffer after completely ignoring him in the Men’s Coach of the Year category in Monday night’s FIFA ‘the Best’ Awards.
As you’d expect, players tend to vote for their club bosses, no matter how well they’ve done over the past year.
Eden Hazard voted for Antonio Conte for example, while Lionel Messi opted for Luis Enrique.
But not Mkhitaryan, who decided to go for Zinedine Zidane as his top choice, with Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri and Monaco’s Leonardo Jardim making up the top three.
Fair enough, we say. But that’s still pretty ballsy.
What’s more, plenty of Mourinho’s former players, including Hazard, Luka Modric and Macedonia’s Goran Pandev, all voted for the former Chelsea boss in their top three.
So, what gives?
Well, we reckon the former Borussia Dortmund man might still be salty about that period he spent on the sidelines in his first few months at the club last season.
But who knows?
Either way, it’s probably high time you took the midfielder OUT of your Dream Team, as we reckon he’s about to spend more time on the bench.
What’s more, he’s only picked up a measly 13 fantasy football points in his last seven appearances.
