Bernardo Silva could face two-game ban for ’embarrassing’ dive

If he is judged to have dived to win the spot kick, Silva could be the first player in the Premier League to fall foul of the new rule allowing for retrospective action on simulation.

Sergio Aguero stepped up to slot home the resulting penalty on his return from injury.

Carlisle’s Shaun Miller became the first player in England to be banned for diving, facing two games on the sidelines.

Watford’s Richarlison and Newcastle midfielder Mikel Merino have both been cleared by an FA panel already this season.

But Silva could be in hot water after he went over theatrically in the Burnley box.

It’s a toughie as it looks like there was some contact from the Burnley goal keeper.
