Pep Guardiola admits he has no idea when skipper Vincent Kompany will be fit again.
The Belgium international has been sidelined since he picked up a calf injury on international duty against Gibraltar in early September.
His last appearance for City was way back in the 2-1 win over Bournemouth at the end of August.
Asked if he has any chance of facing Burnley on Saturday, Pep said: “He is not ready – not yet.”
He then answered ‘No’ when the question was put in over whether he knows when he might be fit again.
The absence of the City legend means Guardiola is relying heavily on John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi during a busy schedule.
Striker Sergio Aguero has been left on the bench for the last two matches and Pep must decide whether to name an unchanged side for the fourth successive game.
Guardiola added: “He was ready to start against Napoli. I think the game against Stoke it was just one training session.
“He could have played but was not completely fit. But the game against Napoli he was ready and of course he is ready for tomorrow.
“We will decide after training. Normally when we have international break or the Champions League, the night or the day of the game before we leave it.
“I like to see how the players, speak to the doctors, see myself how I feel. I am going to decide.
“The reason why is because sometimes I change things every game. I decide that and we will see tomorrow.”
