Guardiola has been boosted by the fact Sergio Aguero returned to training just days after breaking a rib in an Amsterdam car crash.
The striker’s taxi hit a pole while he was being whisked from a concert to a private jet on his day off at the end of September.
Argentina team doctor Donato Villani painted a bleak picture for the ex-Atletico Madrid man.
He said: “Sergio is in a very bad way emotionally. He can’t move around his house, or get in and out of a car. He won’t be able to play for a month and a half.”
But Aguero has played down his injuries and thanked the medical staff who swung into action.
