WATCH: Bored England fans go MENTAL when a paper plane flies into the goal

Fans launched paper aeroplanes from the Wembley stands as England played out a drab match against Slovenia

Being an England fan is hard work, isn’t it?

Many of us have long since given up watching the Three Lions play, with the general consensus being that games leading up to the major tournaments have become pointless and little bit dull.

Thursday night was no exception, as England beat Slovenia 1-0 in their penultimate World Cup qualifying game.

The match should’ve been a celebratory affair, with Gareth Southgate’s men confirming their place at next summer’s tournament thanks to Harry Kane’s late goal.

But not for the first time, England fans went away from another gruelling Wembley experience feeling somewhat disillusioned.

Honestly, we can think of a dozen better things to do with a Thursday night.

In fact, some fans at the stadium were so bored during the 94 minutes before the goal that they resorted to making paper planes to throw onto the pitch.

Thousands of fans stayed away from Wembley last night, with the final attendance reaching just 61,598 despite England more-or-less assured qualification.

The Three Lion’s take on Lithuania for their final qualifier on Sunday, while Southgate’s men take on Germany and then Brazil next month.

Crikey, that’s going to be an eye-opener.
