AC Milan legend Clarence Seedorf has held shock talks with Oldham over the vacant managers job.
The Holland hero was treated to fine dining by chairman Simon Corney in a bid to win him over.
Seedorf was also given a tour of the struggling League One club on Thursday afternoon.
Oldham, who are second from bottom, are looking for a new manager after sacking John Sheridan on Monday.
And according to the Daily Mail, Seedorf is just one of the names in the hat to help fire the Latics up the table.
A four-time Champions League winner, the 41-year-old has managerial experience at AC Milan and Chinese side Shenzhen.
He lasted just four months in the job at the San Siro before being replaced by fellow Milan legend Filippo Inzaghi.
His stint in China was also nothing to write home about after lasting just six months before ex-England gaffer Sven-Goran Eriksson took charge.
Oldham are reportedly close to announcing new investors and want the former Ajax man to lead a new era.
Seedorf won five league titles as a player in his career with three different clubs.
