Ozil has come under intense criticism for his workrate under Arsene Wenger at the North London club, with many fans constantly joking he goes missing in the big games.

But, according to the Mirror, the 28-year-old is open to re-uniting with the Portuguese, who managed him at Real Madrid.

United – as was shown in their 1-0 win over Southampton yesterday – have grown an intense work-rate and tactical discipline under Mourinho.

Which may lead to questions as to exactly how Ozil would fit it at Old Trafford, should he choose to make the move to the North West.

According to the tabloid, Ozil is highly admired by Mourinho’s coaching staff, as well as the likes of Inter Milan.
