Allow us to introduce you to Elye Wahi.
The 14-year-old French wonderkid is currently playing against lads three years older than him in France’s top Under-17 league — and doing very well for himself.
Wahi plays for Caen and recently netted twice against the mighty PSG.
Last season he scored a casual 89 goals which meant his name appeared in scouting reports that were placed on the desk of some high-profile managers across Europe.
Chelsea have the reported favourites to sign the French teenager though they will have to wait another couple of years as he can’t move abroad until he’s 16-years-old.
A move to Stamford Bridge would be fitting considering how closely Wahi’s life has mirrored that of N’Golo Kante so far.
Chelsea’s tireless midfielder started life at JS Suresnes, as did Wahi.
Kante also played for Caen (Wahi’s current club) before his move to Leicester in 2015.
The similarities stretch beyond the realms of football as well.
Both players hail from the same Paris suburb, Courcouronnes.
And both players sadly lost their fathers as children — Kante’s father died when his son was just 11 and Wahi was even younger when his dad passed away.
However, the two Frenchmen are very different when it comes to their playing styles.
Kante is an omnipresent centre-midfielder (formerly a left winger) whose energy and anticipation have made him a formidable opponent for the playmakers of the Premier League.
Conversely, Wahi is a ‘goal-obsessed’ forward blessed with a natural talent for finishing.
Media outlets in France are calling him ‘Kante’s little brother’ despite the fact there’s no evidence the two have ever met.
Though if Chelsea get their way, the pair may be team-mates at some point in the future.
