When you think of Cristiano Ronaldo, what comes to mind?
We’re guessing goals come pretty high up that list, but what about diamonds?
Ronaldo’s latest Nike boots- the Chapter 5: Cut to Brilliance- are, as you can probably guess from the name, inspired by diamonds.
The boots feature a ‘diamond-inspired graphic on a white base that sparkles under the lights’ which will be useful under the grey skies of Hackney Marshes.
There’s also ‘multi-color knit details that mimic the multitude of colors that diamonds refract’ for those of you worried about not standing out enough.
Finally a ‘textured CR7 logo provides a tactile representation of the diamond graphic, while the heel counter provides a top-down view of a brilliant-cut diamond accompanied by the date of Ronaldo’s Madrid debut’.
But why diamonds?
Ronaldo is the quickest player in history to reach 50, 150, 200 and 250 La Liga goals, so you could say he’s ‘shone like a diamond’ since joining Real Madrid in 2008.
There’s a nice personal touch on the heel as well with ‘El Sueno Del Nino’ or ‘The Dream of the Child’ included to reference Ronaldo’s feelings upon joining Madrid.
Ronaldo said: “The details of the white boots — the color, the diamonds — they are beautiful; they are cool.
“I am sure, 100 percent, people are gonna like it.”
Does that go for Lionel Messi as well?
