Philippe Coutinho will REFUSE to play for Liverpool in the Champions League this season after failing to secure Barcelona move

The Brazilian midfielder is desperate to play for the Spanish giants

Philippe Coutinho will refuse to play for Liverpool during their Champions League run this season as he continues to set his sights on a move to Barcelona in January.

The Brazilian midfielder really had his heart set on joining the Spanish giants this summer – and according to Catalan-based outlet Sport – he will sit out of the Reds’ European games so he is not cup-tied to play for Barca in the competition after the turn of the year.

If the claims are true, then Coutinho will not play against Sevilla, Spartak Moscow or Maribor in Liverpool’s Champions League group, to keep himself eligible to play for Barca in the knockout round should he make the move to Spain.
