Man United manager Jose Mourinho is going to be PLAYING against Peter Crouch tomorrow

The Red Devils boss is the latest to be named in the Game 4 Grenfell squads, where he will line up against the likes of Peter Crouch and Paul Merson

It’s not often you see Jose Mourinho dusting off his football boots to actually play in a game.

However, the Manchester United manager will be doing just that on Saturday afternoon after becoming the most recent addition to the squads for the Game4Grenfell charity match.

The Red Devils boss has joined a host of big names to be playing in the match at Loftus Road in aid of those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire disaster.

Mourinho will be playing for Alan Shearer’s side against a squad coached by Les Ferdinand, 30 years after he hung up his playing boots, against a squad containing the likes of Peter Crouch, Shay Given, Damien Duff and Paul Merson.

The Portuguese gaffer’s playing career was modest at best, playing in the Portuguese Second Division for the likes of Rio Ave, Belenenses and G.D. Sesimbra.

Since then he has cut his teeth as one of the world’s most successful coaches, so returning to the pitch as a player will be something of a rarity for fans to see.

Go on, it’s probably worth a few quid to see Jose donning the boots again.
