A few eyebrows were raised when Chelsea signed Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina.
One Premier League title and a couple of goals away to Spurs later and that transfer looks like a stroke of genius.
Now the champions are hoping to repeat the trick with right-sided wing-back Davide Zappacosta.
Chelsea have signed the Italy international for £23million after missing out on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The ex-Arsenal man decided to join Liverpool as he doesn’t want to play as a wing-back anymore.
One man who will be very familiar with Zappacosta is Joe Hart, the pair where team-mates at Torino last season while the England keeper was on loan in Turin.
The 25-year-old is highly-rated in Italy having made his international debut last year.
Zappacosta is expected to provide competition for Victor Moses and is more competent defensively and physically imposing than the Nigeria international.
Torino bought him from Atalanta in 2015 for £8million.
Zappacosta joins Alonso and Antonio Rudiger as defenders to have traded Serie A for Stamford Bridge in recent times.
Conte has a type and he’s sticking to it.
