Liverpool have bid £74million for Monaco star Thomas Lemar as they try to add to Jurgen Klopp’s shallow squad, according to reports.
The Anfield side have even offered to lend them Divock Origi on loan to sweeten the deal for the 21-year-old France star.
Arsenal were chasing the attacker all summer but have given up landing the star as he price continues to rise but the Mail report the Kop side have made the massive bid.
Arsene Wenger has had three offers rejected for his services including a £45m bid, with the French boss declaring that any move to bring him in this window is “dead”.
Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim is reluctant to offload any more players having seen the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva already leave the club.
Liverpool’s money men have out together a deal of £46m up front – with a further £28m next summer – as well as the loan of Origi.
When Klopp was recently asked if Origi could be moved on, he said: “We will see.
“That’s not something to talk about here.”
“If players come in, I think it makes sense to think about what we do on the other side.
“They’re obviously involved in this (the players). I’m not sure, we will see, you have to wait.
“No games now so I hope you can enjoy the next five or six days with all the rumours and all that stuff.
“I’m not looking forward to it but it’s part of the game.”
