Apparently, Loic Remy still exists.
And what’s more, the Chelsea striker is still in the forefront of some people’s thoughts, with Swansea and former club Newcastle reportedly interested in a loan move for the Blues flop.
Remy returned to Stamford Bridge this summer after an unsuccessful season on loan at Crystal Palace.
And he still has a season to run on his £80,000-a-week contract, and clearly doesn’t feature in Antonio Conte’s plans.
Remy, 30, started just one Premier League game for Palace last season and it is more than 18 months since he scored his last goal back in December, 2015.
Former club Marseille were linked with a reunion, but Remy’s wages have so far stood in the way of the striker making a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge.
Toon and Swans are both in need of firepower and, according to SkySports, are set to offer him an escape route, with Remy set to leave on a free at the end of the season.
Newcastle have signed Joselu on loan from Stoke but Rafa Benitez wants another striker as he goes in search of arresting a run of three straight defeats.
Remy scored 14 goals in 26 games on loan during the 2013-14 season and could be tempted by a return to St James’ Park.
Swansea have already loaned striker Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.
Blues are keen on Swansea striker Fernando Llorente as back-up to Alvaro Morata.
And they could throw in Remy as part of a deal to land the Spain striker.
