Everyone’s favourite Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov has joined Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters ahead of the 2017-18 season, where he’ll link-up with two familiar faces.
Rene Meulensteen, who worked with the him during his time at Manchester United as well as Fulham, was announced as Kerala’s new head coach last month.
And the Indian club also boasts former United defender Wes Brown, who joined last week having played alongside Berbatov from 2008 to 2011.
Berbatov, who’s also turned out for the likes of Spurs, Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco, scored 48 goals in 108 Premier League appearances for United, winning two league titles, as well as the Premier League Golden Boot in 2010–11.
Kerala announced the marquee signing via a very nice video montage on their official Twitter account, captioned: “Golden touch, turns like a dream & a deadly finish. The Bulgarian Hitman is set to take ISL by storm.”

The 36-year-old, who has signed a one-year contract, was a free agent after leaving the Greek side PAOK Salonika in June 2016, while Brown was released by Blackburn over the summer after making just eight appearances for the Rovers.
Berbatov was once United’s record-signing, joining from Tottenham for a measly £30.75 million fee.
Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Angel Di Maria, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof have since surpassed him in price.
