Who are you and what have you done with Raheem Sterling?
The Man City winger has many fine attributes but clinical finishing has never been one.
For all his dribbling and creativity, the 22-year-old has often been criticised for his wastefulness and reluctance to shoot when presented with a chance.
Not tonight though.
Sterling rescued a point for Pep Guardiola’s men with an accomplished snap-shot after Mason Holgate’s header failed to remove the danger.
Sterling’s position is at a premium at the Etihad with the likes of David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane all providing stuff competition for places.
But his point-winning strike against Everton will surely earn him points in Guardiola’s estimations.
Earlier in the game Wayne Rooney scored his 200th Premier League goal before Kyle Walker was sent off for two yellow cards in the first half.
Morgan Schneiderlin was also shown red for a second bookable offence late in the game.
