The top 10 cumulative football transfer fees of all-time

Neymar's £198million move has blown everyone else out of the water, but who comes second to the Brazilian superstar?

The summer transfer window of 2017 may well be a watershed moment in football history.

Led by Neymar’s extraordinary £198million transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain, the game can now expect £100m+ transfers to become commonplace.

And while the Brazilian superstar is likely to be top of the tree when it comes to cumulative transfer fees for some time to come, who else makes a list of the most expensive players of all time in cumulative transfer fees?

We’ve put together the infographic below, with the ten highest cumulative transfer figures.

It’s little surprise that Neymar is top of the pile, and Angel di Maria’s consistently big transfer fees from Benfica, Real Madrid, Manchester United and PSG puts him second.

Similarly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s big money moves sees him reach third place, while Gonzalo Higuian and Hulk make up the top five.

It is likely that we will see new names enter the list in the coming weeks and months, as we now live in a ‘post-Neymar’ world.

Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho could all feature on the list in the very near future, but will anyone come close to knocking Neymar off the top? It’s very unlikely.
