With Jese Rodriguez close to sealing a move from Paris Saint-Germain to the bright lights of Stoke City, Mark Hughes’ side look set to boast more Champions League winners than any other Premier League club this season.
The Spanish forward, who’s won Europe’s premier competition with Real Madrid twice, is said to be days away from completing his dream move to Stoke after passing a medical at the Bet365 stadium on Monday.
And he’ll be in good company, joining four other winners of the competition; Darren Fletcher, Bojan, Xherdan Shaqiri and Ibrahim Afellay at the club.

In fact, the deal will see Stoke harbour more CL winners than Chelsea (who have four), Manchester City (three), Manchester United (two), Arsenal and Liverpool (one each).
The 24-year-striker, who’s represented Spain at Under-21 level, moved to the Ligue 1 giants last season but struggled to settle in the French capital and spent the second half of the season on loan at Las Palmas.
Italian side Fiorentina are also keen on the striker, but it looks like Stokelona have beaten them to it.
Hughes’ team have been desperately searching for a player to fill the giant void left by winger Marko Arnautovic, who left for West Ham this summer.
Details on the deal are mixed, with some outlets stating the transfer will be a season-long loan.
