PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are on the brink of signing Monaco ace Kylian Mbappe for £162million, according to reports.
Despite luring Neymar to the Parc des Princes for a world-record fee of £198 million last week PSG are ready to spend big again.
However, PSG may have to bank almost £100m in sales by the end of January to comply with financial fair play rules.
If a transfer is completed the French club’s potential front line this season could consist of Mbappe, Neymar and Edinson Cavani.
The Daily Record claims that Real Madrid and Manchester City were also interested in the 18-year-old but it appears he will be heading to the French capital.
The report also claims that all three clubs are willing to meet the France international’s wage demands which could be as high as £7.22 million.
On Wednesday French TV channel TF1 claimed pacy teenager Mbappe has chosen PSG.
Their reporter Julien Maynard said: “Paris will now enter into negotiations with Monaco and quickly formulate a first offer.”
The France international, who scored 26 goals in his breakthrough season last term, reportedly told Monaco that he intended to leave this summer.
Sportswear giant Nike, who sponsor Mbappe and make the PSG kit, are said to be desperate for the teenager to link up with Neymar.
The striker is a sponsored Nike athlete and the US company supply PSG’s kit.
There are also questions over Mbappe’s fitness after he picked up a knee injury on Friday in Monaco’s opening league match against Toulouse.
