Poor Romelu Lukaku has really copped it since his £75million move to Man United.
First a unflattering montage of his misjudged first chances went viral.
Now rival fans are roasting him for a passage of unintelligent play in the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid.
The incident occurred in the first half in Macedonia when United had a potential break through on goal.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan did well to close down the ball and blocked a clearance.
Lukaku was clearly offside and he must have known it.
Yet for some reason he decided to chase the loose ball.
Mkhitaryan was comfortably onside and would have easily collected the ball.
All Lukaku had to do was make a move away from the ball and into the middle and he could have ended up with a tap-in.
Jose Mourinho and Mkhitaryan were both visibly irked by Lukaku’s decision.
The cameras also showed Toni Kroos smirking at his side’s lucky escape.
Lukaku then confounded the problem in the second half when he squandered a glorious chance in the second half moments after Isco had doubled Madrid’s lead.
All we’re saying is… Zlatan would have buried it.
However, don’t write off the hulking Belgian entirely.
He showed his predatory instincts when he followed up a long-range effort from Nemanja Matic and tapped in the rebound.
Though had he allowed Mkhitaryan to recover the earlier opportunity and converted his first chance he could have had a potentially match-winning hat-trick.
He capped off the night with a foul throw when United were chasing the game.
One to forget for the big lad — even with a goal to his name.
