The team of players available on a free transfer next summer is a bargain hunter’s delight

From Isco to Andres Iniesta, there's plenty of bargains to be had next summer

Everyone loves a bargain. But in football there aren’t too many bargains to be found.

Hence why a man called Jean-Marc Bosman is so important. He made it possible for players to move at the end of their contracts.

We know the football season has only just started but it’s time to look ahead at who’s set to be available for absolutely nada next summer.

NOT PICKED YOUR FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM YET? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Goalkeeper

Okay, not the strongest start.

Michel Vorm, who’s imprint is probably well etched into Spurs’ bench by now, is the best of a reasonably average bunch.

If you don’t fancy the 33-year-old then you could pluck for Joel Robles or Atletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The latter is 22 and already working his way into a stacked Spain squad.

Defence

Want a left-back/centre back/holding midfielder/central midfielder, who can play on the left of midfield if really pushed? Well then Daley Blind is you man.

Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez and Lazio’s Stefan de Vrij are two of Europe’s best young centre-backs and just so happen to be winding down their contracts unless they can be persuaded to sign on the dotted line.

Gimenez’s team-mate Juanfran is also creeping towards the exit but, even at 32, offers plenty of experience and some Diego Simeone bite in defence.

Other soon-to-be frees of note are Luke Shaw, Giorgio Chiellini and Miranda.

Midfield

As things stand you could build a Spanish midfield of Ander Herrera and Andres Iniesta without spending a penny next summer.

Add to that Mesut Ozil, Isco and Keita Balde and you’ve got one of Europe’s best midfields. Net spend? Zero.

If, for whatever reason, you don’t fancy those five, how about Blaise Matuidi, Juan Mata, Ross Barkley or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain?

There’s no need to get your wallet out, we’ve got this one covered.

Attack

Let’s be honest, you’re taking Alexis Sanchez on a free.

Mario Balotelli, Carlos Vela and Luan are other viable options but we’ll stick with the Chilean thanks.

Now, Mr Wenger, how are you going to replace that rather large hole in attack?
