PSG player has already offered Neymar his iconic shirt number

Javier Pastore has reportedly offered to give Neymar his no.10 shirt when he joins PSG

Neymar hasn’t even joined PSG officially yet but he’s already having an influence in the dressing room.

The Brazilian, set to leave Barcelona in a £196million deal, will arrive in Paris with a formal invitation to take one of his team-mate’s numbers.

Javier Pastore has encouraged Neymar to take his no.10 shirt, according to Cadena SER.

Pastore inherited the no.10 from Hatem Ben Arfa last season, having worn the numbers 27, 17 and 13 since joining from Palermo in 2011.

Neymar wears the no.10 for Brazil, with Angel Di Maria currently occupying the no.11 shirt he wore at both Barcelona and Santos.

Pastore said: “I want to offer my shirt to Neymar as a welcome act. I want you to feel happy and comfortable from the first day.”

Ahh, isn’t that lovely.

But, whisper it quietly, Pastore might not have had much say in the matter either way.

PSG need to sell players to stay within the boundaries of Financial Fair Play, with Pastore linked with a move to Inter Milan.

If Neymar does take the no.10 shirt he’ll be inheriting an iconic number at PSG.

Ronaldinho, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jay-Jay Okocha all wore the no.10 shirt during their time at the club.

No pressure then.
