It’s official – Neymar will move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Brazilian forward has been given permission to leave Barcelona, and is set to complete a world record transfer to join the French club.
The fee is thought to be around £196million, more than doubling the current world record fee set by Manchester United’s Paul Pogba last summer.
Neymar was given the go-ahead to miss training by the Barca technical staff, the club confirmed on Twitter.
The 25-year-old told his team-mates on Wednesday that he wanted to leave the Catalan giants, and was given permission to skip training by manager Ernesto Valverde to “sort out his future”.
While the details of the transfer have yet to be confirmed, the news brings to an end a sensational summer saga that has seen PSG go all out to sign the Brazilian.
All that is left now is for the two clubs to officially agree a deal and for Neymar to agree personal terms.
His move will also see the end of the famous MSN attacking trio, with Neymar becoming a pivotal part of football’s most fearsome frontline.
Alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, Neymar scored 105 goals in 186 games for the Spanish giants, as well as providing 80 assists in his four years at the club.
