Ahh, the dreaded medical.
Patrik Schick was all set to leave Sampdoria for Juventus a couple of days ago.
Transfer fee? Agreed. Personal terms? All signed. Medical? Not so quick.
Juventus pulled out of a deal for the Czech Republic international, with some reports citing heart problems as the reason for the Old Lady’s wobble.
But Juventus’ loss could be Inter Milan’s gain.
Inter are poised to move for Schick having watched the deal collapse, according to Di Marzio.
Fitness issues aside, Schick is one of the brightest talents in Italian football.
The 21-year-old, who’s been likened to Dennis Bergkamp thanks to his sublime first touch, scored 11 goals in Serie A last season.
His form led Juventus to trigger his €30million release clause, a similar figure to what Inter will have to pay.
While their cross-city rivals have been getting busy in the transfer market, Inter have been slightly shrewder with their money.
Milan Skriniar joined from Sampdoria in a £20mil deal, while former West Brom midfielder Borja Valero has also arrived from Fiorentina.
Time to loosen the purse strings lads.
