Chelsea trio left at home for pre-season tour amidst mounting transfer speculation

Cue more transfer speculation

Chelsea have touched down in China for the start of their pre-season tour – but Diego Costa, Nemanja Matic and Kurt Zouma are not among the travelling Blues.

This might not be the most shocking news in the world, especially for Chelsea fans, but their absence all but confirms the trio are off this summer.

All three Blues boys have been slowly heading towards the exit doors this summer, with Zouma already spotted hanging around Stoke City’s training ground, presumably to train.

Matic has been linked with Manchester United and Inter Milan (but who hasn’t, to be honest?) and Costa is reportedly not part of Antonio Conte’s plans.

Star man Eden Hazard has also stayed behind, but only to receive more treatment on an ankle injury.

New signing Antonio Rudiger is set to join up with the squad in Singapore next week after Chelsea’s opening game of the tour against Arsenal on Saturday.

Bizarrely, forgotten-man Loic Remy is among the travelling party, along with a bunch of youngsters you’d only know if you support Vitesse Arnhem or Brentford.

New signing Willy Caballero is also part of the 25-man squad, having joined the Premier League champions as a free agent last month.
