Carles has never taken any prisoners and he’s not about to start now.
The Barcelona legend provided the standout moment from the first day of the Star Sixes tournament in London by attempting to kick Phil Neville’s kneecap clean off.
The incident occurred during England’s match with Spain at the O2 Arena last night.
Ex-Barcelona captain Puyol was clearly enjoying being back on the pitch again and was charging around with his usual enthusiasm.
However, the veteran centre-back appeared to take the occasion too seriously as his high tackle could have seriously hurt Neville.

The former Everton skipper was far from pleased and immediately confronted Puyol, who seemed rather nonplussed.
However, the duo made up and continued to play on as Spain ran out 4-1 winners thanks to a brace from Liverpool favourite Luis Garcia.
Reflecting on the challenge, Neville said: “It is the worst tackle that I have ever seen on a football field!
“I hope UEFA, FIFA and the FA are going to look at this. And the thing that upset me more than anything is that the referee said that he had got the ball.
“Honestly, it was a horrendous tackle. That was only two or three minutes into the game, so it was a bit of an eye-opener.”
Naturally, Jamie Carragher thought the whole thing was brilliant.
