A newspaper has published a story about Romelu Lukaku using a picture of Stormzy

That's a pretty incredible gaffe

Romelu Lukaku has dominated the back (and front) pages of newspapers up and down the country since the weekend, after agreeing a move to Manchester United from Everton.

So we’re pretty sure a good portion of the nation knows exactly what he looks like, right?

Seemingly not.

That’s right folks, it looks like the good people of the Evening Herald in Ireland have done a pretty dire job of their back page by mistaking Grime star Stormzy with United’s newest signing.

Genuinely our biggest fear.

It’s not even a joke either, with the picture caption reading: “New Manchester United signing Romelu Lukaku.”

Nope, ‘fraid it isn’t.

In fact, the picture likely comes from United’s away kit launch last May, where Stormzy posed with David Beckham in London.

In all fairness, even Stormzy pointed out the likeness between himself and the Belgian forward, tweeting this a couple of years ago:

Lukaku (and not Stormzy) is on the brink of completing a £75million transfer (plus extras) to United from Everton, with the two clubs coming to an agreement over the weekend.

The 24-year-old undertook his club medical while holidaying in California with new teammate Paul Pogba, with the Frenchman one of the first to know about the transfer.

See you tomorrow in training @rlukaku9 #bienvenue #AgentP🕵🏽
