We’re pretty certain most players in the Premier League would agree that N’Golo Kante is a ferocious opponent.
The nippy Frenchman has been the midfield engine behind two Premier League titles in the last two seasons with both Leicester and Chelsea, and he was rightfully named PFA Player Of The Year and Football Writers Player of The Year at the end of last season.
Fast, strong and relentless in his quest to win back possession, Kante is seemingly everywhere.
A worthy opponent for any top-flight star.
But who is the toughest opponent the France international has come up against since his arrival in England?
Actually, that one’s a pretty easy guess.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, the 26-year-old revealed that Tottenham pair Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele were his toughest opponents last season, and named Spurs as Chelsea’s biggest opponent.
“I would say Tottenham,” he said.
“We had two very tight games against them in the Premier League.
“They’re a very good team and in midfield Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele are so strong.”
We couldn’t agree more with you, N’Golo.
But despite the challenge, Kane and Co. still managed to get the better of Spurs back in November last season, when they beat their title rivals 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
However, they were on the receiving end of defeat in January back at White Hart Lane, when a resurgent Spurs side beat them 2-0.
Gosh, we miss the Premier League.
