FLORENTINO PEREZ is set for showdown talks with Cristiano Ronaldo – but the Real Madrid president will tell his superstar player: you have nowhere to go.
According to Spanish publication Diario Gol, Perez has been telling friends in the media he is STUCK at the Bernabeu, simply because there have been no offers for him and the 32-year-old’s age will put buyers off.
Ronaldo would only consider a move back to former club Manchester United should he depart the La Liga this summer.
The Portuguese star is believed to be outraged after Los Blancos have failed to protect him after he was charged of defrauding the Spanish authorities.
He is accused of not paying out £13million in four separate acts between 2011-2014, and is likely to be imposed with a heavy time instead of a potential jail sentence.
In the report published by the Spanish news outlet, Peres is quoted as saying: “Cristiano is angry, and I understand it.
“He is a professional, very meticulous and responsible with his obligations.
“It is normal to get angry when they try to hurt you.”
But he has strenuously revealed that even though his prized asset in unhappy with the Champions League winners, he will remain a part of the squad for the forthcoming season.
Perez insisted it is impossible for any club to be able to afford given his huge price tag and £440,000-a-week salary, as well as the fact that no clubs have put any offers in for him.
Ronaldo’s mood will hardly be any happier at the moment considering the fact his country bowed out of the Confederations Cup at the semi-final stage.
Chile beat Portugal 3-0 in the penalty shoot-out after they played out a goalless draw in 120 minutes.
The former Sporting Lisbon didn’t even get a chance to take a spot-kick as his team-mates missed all three penalties with Claudio Bravo stopping Ricardo Quaresma, Joao Moutinho and Nani.
