MANCHESTER CITY are trying to bring in three full-backs before next month’s US tour.
Dani Alves is closing in on a move after Tottenham failed with a late bid for the Juventus defender.
And Pep Guardiola is also hoping to complete the signings of Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy before jetting off.
Full-back is a key position in the Spaniard’s tactical set-up and was an issue for City last season.
Alves – who Guardiola signed for Barcelona in 2008 – is expected to provide experienced back-up for No1 target Walker.
And Monaco star Mendy will compete with Aleksandar Kolarov on the other flank if a deal can be struck for the £40million-rated Frenchman.
City fly out on July 17 for their pre-season clashes against Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham.
Guardiola has already brought in young Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson and Portugal starlet Bernardo Silva in two early swoops.
And a number of other targets are also being closely monitored, with Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez a priority.
Dortmund whizkid Ousmane Dembele is an alternative option but the talented Frenchman will not come cheap.
Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also in the hunt for the pacey goalscorer, who would cost upwards of £60m.
