Roma have taken a look at Monaco’s clearance sale and said ‘that’s nothing, watch this’.
The Ligue 1 champions have lost Bernardo Silva to Man City with Tiemoue Bakayoko, Fabinho, Benjamin Mendy, Thomas Lemar and possibly even Kylian Mbappe set for moves away from the principality.
While the Serie A runners-up are shedding players at an alarming rate.
The legendary Francesco Totti played his last game for the club at the end of last season and Mohamed Salah just recently joined Liverpool for a club record fee of £36.9million.
Now Roma are set to allow two more key players to depart.
Highly-rated centre-back Kostas Manolas and Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes are both on the brink of joining Roberto Mancini’s Zenit Saint Petersburg.
The pair will cost the Russian Premier League club an estimated €65million with €40m of that representing Roma’s valuation of Manolas.
The 26-year-old Greek international has been scouted by a host of top clubs including Premier League champions Chelsea but this deal will mean Antonio Conte and others will have to look elsewhere for a quality centre-back.
The double deal is expected to be completed by Tuesday.
Your move, Monaco…
