Mo Salah’s arrival at Liverpool has triggered a squad number shake-up at Liverpool

Roberto Firmino is offering to personally sign any 2017/18 shirts with 'Firmino 11' on the back now that he's switched to No9

By now you are very aware that Liverpool have signed Mohamed Salah.

The club are on an unprecedented streak of tweets in reference to their new record signing as fans begin to salivate at the thought of the £36.9million winger in full flight alongside the equaly rapid Sadio Mane.

To be the fair, the reveal was well-handled, one of our favourites for a long time…

The transfer had been expected for some time and for many the news came as a relief more than anything.

Although some fans may have been annoyed when Salah’s squad number was revealed.

The 25-year-old will wear No11, just as he did at former club Roma…

What does that mean for Roberto Firmino?

The Brazilian forward has worn No11 since his arrival at Anfield from Hoffenheim in 2015.

Well, Bobby is set to adopt Liverpool’s No9 shirt, previously worn in the Premier League by the likes to Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler, Fernando Torres and legendary Anfield hero Iago Aspas.

This is obviously bad news for any eager fans who have already purchased the 2017/18 kit (which is absolutely gorgeous) with Firmino’s name and old number on the back.

Fear not, the Firmino fan club.

The man himself is offering to personally sign any new Firmino 11 shirts that were purchased prior to Salah’s announcement.

All you have to do is send your 2017/18 Firmino 11 shirt to Anfield before the 18 August with a stamped self-addressed envelope big enough to contain the jersey, along with a proof of purchase, and it’ll will be sent back to you complete with Firmino’s undoubtedly artistic signature.

Isn’t that a nice gesture?
