We’ve heard an awful lot about Ousmane Dembele lately.
The young Frenchman has had an incredible breakout season at Borussia Dortmund, while his recent outing for France against England somewhat rattled the Three Lions’ defence.
And it looks like the 20-year-old could become one of the world’s most expensive signings, with Barcelona keen on snapping up the youngster for an eye-watering £80million.
That’s according to German publication BILD, who claim Dembele could easily surpass Kevin de Bruyne as the Bundesliga’s most expensive outbound transfer.
These revelations come after the player’s representative Moussa Sissoko told L’Equipe: “We know that many big clubs are interested in him. This is a form of recognition for his good performances. ”
For what it’s worth, Dembele has declared his happiness at the Westfalenstadion, saying recently: “I’m good at Dortmund. I have a contract until 2021. I don’t pay attention to what is being said.”
And what’s more, Dortmund have made sure the player is tied-down for the foreseeable future, with four years still to go on his current deal.
It’s fairly clear that BVB have no interest in parting company with the one of their rising stars, despite the amount of interest in him.
However, every player has their price, and Barca could push ahead with a world-breaking deal.
Brace yourselves, folks.
This one could last the duration of the summer transfer window.
