How do you replace someone of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s quality?
The Gabon international is reportedly on the verge of a move to PSG, leaving Borussia Dortmund with a world-class striker shaped hole to fill.
But new Dortmund boss Peter Bosz won’t be looking to replace Aubameyang with just one player.
Instead he’ll be looking to get two new strikers in to share the goalscoring burden, according to Bild.
So who are they?
The first is current PSG striker Jean-Kevin Augustin, who’ll be included in any €70million deal to take Aubameyang to Ligue 1.
The 19-year-old has represented France at every level from Under-16s through to Under-21s, for whom he’s played six times and scored four goals.
He made his first-team debut in 2015 but has struggled to establish himself as a regular due to the presence of Edinson Cavani.
Dortmund’s other rumoured new arrival is River Plate striker Lucas Alario.
The 24-year-old started his career at Colon but joined River in 2015, scoring at better than one-in-two since making the move.
His form has seen him included in the Argentinian national team- no mean feat when considering the attackers he’s up against.
Dortmund made several unsuccessful moves for Alario in the past but that doesn’t look to have deterred them.
Money shouldn’t be an issue, given the transfer fee PSG will have to pay for Aubameyang, while his wages fall comfortably inside Dortmund’s capabilities.
But the big question is, will they whip out a batman mask every time they score?
