EDEN HAZARD is set to miss the start of next season after fracturing his ankle in training with Belgium.
The Chelsea winger will require surgery and could be out for up to three months.
Hazard, 26, had been set to feature for his national side in Monday’s friendly with the Czech Republic and their World Cup qualifier against Estonia on June 9.
But the Belgian FA confirmed the Blues star suffered an injury during Sunday’s training session at the National Football Centre in Tubize.
No other player was involved in the incident.
The blow comes on the same day as Hazard hinted he could be tempted to quit Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid.
SunSport revealed last week that the Spanish and European champions are lining up a mega £100million bid for Chelsea’s main man.
But this injury could rule out a summer move.
Hazard rediscovered his best from to help boss Antonio Conte secure the Premier League title in his first campaign in charge.
The former Lille star netted 17 times in 42 games in all competitions for the Blues this season.
