Felix Gotze, brother of Borussia Dortmund star Mario, has been handed his first professional contract by Bayern Munich.
The centre-back, 19, swapped Dortmund for Munich a year after his sibling made the infamous switch in 2013.
But unlike Mario, who ended up rejoining his old team, Felix stayed put to fight his way through the Bavarian club’s youth ranks.
He was included in last season’s Bundesliga and Champions League squads by new boss Carlo Ancelotti.
And Gotze has impressed so much that he has now been given a two-year pro contract.
He will now be hoping for a crack at the first team, though that may be hard with Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and Javi Martinez in the way.
Gotze said: “I am happy that I have the chance as a professional at FC Bayern and will do my utmost to contribute my part to further successes of the team.”
Assistant manager Hermann Gerland added:” We are very glad to have tied another highly talented player with Felix Gotze.
“He has already demonstrated his potential in the training sessions with the pros and not least in the finals for the German A-Youth Championship.”
