Pep Guardiola’s wife and two daughters were ‘caught up in terror attack’ after attending the Ariana Grande concert where a suicide bomber killed 22 people, according to reports in Spain.
Another 59 fans of all ages were injured after a suicide bomber targeted the event at the Manchester Arena.
And Mundo Deportivo claims the Manchester City boss’s family were at the concert at the time of the horror attack.
It is reported that wife Cristina Serra, and children Valentina and Maria all escaped unharmed – but are understood to “be in shock”.
Thousands of youngsters had been at the US pop star’s concert when the blast hit the foyer around 10.35pm last night.
And police confirmed children are among the dead following the sickening scenes.
Guardiola, 46, was due to fly to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to meet City bosses to discuss plans for his second season at the club.
It is unknown whether he has travelled.
Guardiola’s official Twitter account posted this morning: “Shocked. Can’t believe what happened last night. My deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims.”
Man City stars and their Manchester United neighbours joined together to pay their respects to those killed in the attack – described as the “the most horrific incident” the city has ever faced.
City’s official Twitter account wrote: “It’s with great sadness we hear of the terrible events at the Arena. Our hearts go out to all affected and to our city’s emergency services.”
Club captain posted: “I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims. It’s a sad day for the great city of Manchester. #Unity.”
Winger Raheem Sterling said: “Shocking events for this great city. My thoughts and prayers are with the families.”
And Leroy Sane added: “My prayers go out to everyone who was involved in last night’s attack.”
